Famous actor Leonardo DiCaprio endorses laboratory grown diamonds
Leonardo DiCaprio proudly announced last week that he invested in a start up producing laboratory grown diamonds because he was concerned about some ethical issues related to conventional diamond mining, including environmental issues. DiCaprio, who starred in Blood Diamond, tweeted: Proud to invest in a company reducing human & environmental toll by sustainably culturing diamonds.

Fancy color diamonds hit the news : The “Blue Moon” diamond breaks all sales records at Sotheby’s
A 12.03-carat fancy vivid blue internally flawless cushion diamond was sold for $48.5 million at Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels sale in Geneva last week. The sale of the blue diamond is the first time ever that a diamond has sold for more than $4 million a carat. It’s also the most money anyone has ever spent at an auction for a jewel.
The diamond named Blue Moon was renamed the “Blue Moon of Josephine” after it was bought by Hong Kong businessman Joseph Lau for his seven-year-old daughter.
But this wasn’t Lau’s first big diamond purchase. Just the day before he spent $28.5 million on a 16.08-carat pink diamond from rival auction house Christie’s. That diamond, the largest of its kind to be auctioned, was renamed “Sweet Josephine” after the sale.
The rarity of natural color diamonds makes their price far beyond the reach of most consumers. Madestones® offers an alternative to these consumers by selling beautiful color laboratory grown diamonds at very affordable prices
